This month, we’ve had a wonderful time on Ochi’s very first Christmas, watching her nap on the Christmas rug beneath the tree and (for the most part) doing a great job leaving the tree (albeit an undecorated one) intact and undisturbed. She has added so much fun to our lives, and it’s hard to believe she’s only been with us for a little over three months.
In that time, she’s really helped to heal our broken hearts after the loss of both Linus and Coco earlier this year. They both loved the holiday season and all the sparkly fun of the decorations (as did Felix, our tuxedo cat we lost in 2014 before we adopted Lucky).
Today I just wanted to remember the joy these three brought into our lives and look back on Christmas past. I know that many of you, too, feel the bittersweet joy that is the holidays as we remember those we’ve loved and lost.
