AnnaLynne McCord Shines Spotlight on Cat Movies at Catdance Film Festival

While the entertainment industry’s top dogs are checking out indy flicks at the Sundance Film Festival, fans of felines in Park City, Utah are watching mini-’mew’vies at the Catdance Film Festival.

On January 19th five cat-inspired films–each selected by Fresh Step cat litter from a nationwide search– and other Catdance official selections commissioned by the cat litter company will be introduced by 90210 star, and proud parent to a rescue cat, AnnaLynne McCord.

“I like to think I’m a natural at capturing cute videos of my cat Buni (seen in the photos above), but I envy the true talent and skills of filmmakers who take it to a cinematic level and create short cat masterpieces,” said McCord. “That’s why I’m excited to celebrate and show off their work at the Catdance Film Festival.”

Kitties with onscreen charisma star in the finalist films, which include Catalogue, a comedy with a twist; Fallen Star, a mock biography of an aging YouTube sensation; Dear Rocky, an animated short that pulls on heartstrings; the how-to video A Cat’s Guide To Caring For a Human, and A Change of Heart, a story that shows that cat love defies stereotypes.

A happening with heart, at the Catdance Film Festival AnnaLynne McCord will also unveil a charitable accessory that all the cool ‘cats’ will be wearing this season– a limited-edition, cat-inspired hat created by well-known knitwear designer Sunghee Bang. A playful mix of popcorn knit, the chatpeau features two pointy cat ears. Available for purchase at www.aspcaonlinestore.com for $39.99 while supplies last, 100 percent of the purchase price of each meow-velous piece of millinery sold will benefit the ASPCA.
