Tony La Russa’s ARF Launches Holiday Pet Food Drive

Over the course of his baseball career Tony La Russa led his teams to three World Series wins, and today the sports great wins the hearts of animal lovers for going to bat for pets in need. Once again Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) has teamed up with the Salvation Army to help fill the plates of both people and pets.

Through January 10, 2014, ARF’s Holiday Pet Food Drive will collect wet and dry cat and dog food for the companion animals of families experiences financial difficulties. Donations of unopened and unexpired pet food are now being accepted at ARF, which is located at 2890 Mitchell Drive in Walnut Creek, California. Drop off hours are from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekdays and from noon until 5 p.m. on the weekends.

If you want to step up to the plate and help ARF’s annual holiday happening but live too far away, you can still get in the game by making an online donation at the organization’s virtual drive at YouGiveGoods.com.

All pet food donations will be distributed by the Salvation Army’s Concord, California facility.
