TriciaHelferActress Tricia Helfer, who has portrayed a humanoid cylon in Battlestar Galactica and a Texas Ranger in the series Killer Women, recently took on a new, real life role– that of a pet parent to a tiny tabby.

Already a doting Mom to multiple cats, the TV star took to Twitter to introduce fans to Prissie, a cuddly kitty she adopted from Kitten Rescue.

Her famous face is a familiar one at the Los Angeles-based non-profit organization, which finds forever families for approximately 1,000 cats and kittens annually, as Helfer is also a Kitten Rescue volunteer.

Known for her compassion for cats, Tricia Helfer has also helped to promote the option of pet adoption (with her kitty companion Cesar, who was also adopted from Kitten Rescue, by her side) for Last Chance for Animals’ Adopt, Don’t Shop campaign, and in 2013 she was presented with Kitty Bungalow’s Cats in White Spats Award for her ongoing efforts to help felines in need.
