Share with fellow cat lovers!

BowenActress Clare Bowen, who portrays rising country music singer/songwriter on the hit ABC series Nashville, put a song in the hearts of her feline-loving fans when she announced that a rescue kitten has taken center stage in her heart and home.

On October 18th the star joined Country Music Hall of Fame member Barbara Mandrell as a co-emcee at the 6th annual Mars Petcare Adoption Fair, which helped to shine a spotlight on adoptable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens from more than 30 Tennessee animal shelters and rescue groups. As she performed her hosting duties, the actress fell in love with a tiny bundle of fur who had formed an attachment to her.

Dubbed Lumière by her new doting Mom, the kitten is currently enjoying her first days with her new family, which includes an Irish Wolfhound named Faloo.

The star’s new purring pal was one of eight kitties from Nashville Cat Rescue who found loving pet parents at the adoption event. Known as Hailey during her days under the care of the non-profit, Lumière’s adoption brought Nashville Cat Rescue one step closer to reaching its goal of placing 1,000 cats and kittens in forever homes in 2014.

Established in late 2005, Nashville Cat Rescue is comprised of a network of foster homes for felines who have been saved from their fate on the streets or in high-kill shelters.
