NHL Star David Backes Helps Animal House

Days before his team played their first home game of the 2014-2015 season, St. Louis Blues captain David Backes paid a visit to a non-profit organization which offers an assist to our feline friends.

Joined by his wife Kelly, the sports star met adorable adoptables at Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center, a no-kill facility in St. Louis which provides care for approximately 200 to 300 cats and kittens in need.

Thanks to Athletes for Animals— a foundation established by David and Kelly Backes in late 2013 in order to promote the option of pet adoption, educate the public about proper pet guardianship and provide financial assistance to rescue organizations– Animal House has received a grant which will be used for the refurbishment of the site’s large cat rooms.

Founded in 2010, Animal House Cat Rescue and Adoption Center placed 203 of our purring pals with loving pet parents in 2013. For more information:
