2015 in Review: Celebrities Who Adopted Cats in Need

CorganAs fans of felines around the world get ready to welcome the new year CatTipper takes a look back at a few stars who gave a cat in need a new start in life in 2015:

House of Cards cast member Mahershala Ali opened his house to a kitty companion this past year. Before being cast in the real life role of the actor’s furry family member, the pretty black kitten was cared for by Sean Casey Animal Rescue, a Brooklyn-based non-profit which has helped our friends with fur, fins and feathers find forever pet parents to love since its start in 1998.

Two rescue kittens took center stage in the heart of Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan in 2015. The indie icon found his new purring pals Angelface (a calico kitty) and Diamond Baby (a tortoiseshell) at the largest no-kill humane and adoption organization in the Windy City, Chicago PAWS.

“Wrecking Ball” singer Miley Cyrus has been having a ball with the new members of her fur family this year! The former Disney darling, who helped both her former flame Liam Hemsworth as well as singer Wayne Coyne find adoptable puppy loves in 2015, adopted Milky the Pit Bull from Linda Blair WorldHeart Foundation and welcomed rescue kittens KeKe and LiLo into her life.

In 2015 actress Clea DuVall (Argo, The Faculty, Girl, Interrupted) stepped into the role of a prison inmate who tries to saw the life of an ‘unadoptable’ shelter dog in the short film The Shelter. In real life the star took on the role of a proud pet parent to two kittens from Found Animals Adopt & Shop. The star met her purring pals in May at a NKLA adoption event.

In 2014 Emmerdale star Samantha Giles literally lent a helping hand to cats in need by drawing around her digits for Cats Protection‘s annual Celebrity Paws auction. This year the hands of the British soap opera star cuddle Bob and Maggie, an adult brother and sister from the leading cat welfare charity in the UK.

Proving that true beauty comes from within, Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show model Gigi Hadid welcomed into her heart and home a tiny tabby who had been found in a car engine.

A feline who was found on a highway in Arkansas is now traveling down the road of life with multi-platinum-selling recording artist and MuttNation Foundation co-founder Miranda Lambert.

A comedic daredevil who dares to help animals in need, former MTV star Steve-O flipped for his new feline fur baby, Olivia! The entertainer met his new kitty companion when he stopped by Spay Neuter Project of Los Angeles to deliver some furry friends from a rescue organization to the clinic for their spay/neuter procedures.
