October may be Adopt-A-Dog Month, but cats who are looking for forever families to love also receive recognition in one of a series of just unleashed PSAs which combine comedy with compassion to promote the option of pet adoption.

Created thanks to a partnership between The Shelter Pet Project, the Ad Council, The Humane Society of the United States and Maddie’s Fund, the video pet biographies will air on more than 33,000 stations during the year-long #Down2Adopt campaign which features the familiar voices of some famous fans of Fidos and felines.

Doggedly devoted to helping our homeless buddies who bark, actress Kristen Bell– who brought the character of Anna to life on the silver screen in the animated contemporary classic Frozen— and MTV2’s Charlamagne Tha God speaks for shelter Spots Molly and Jake, while MTV2 star Carly Aquilino (Girl Code) lends her voice to adorable adoptable cat Daisy.

September 30th marked the MTV2 debut of the videos during an episode of Uncommon with Charlamagne which included not only celebrity guest Vinny Guadagnino, but also Charm, a pup from St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in New Jersey who needs a forever pet parent.

Along with the ads, the campaign will also be promoted via social media as MTV2 viewers check the network’s Instagram to follow the journey of Joey, a 2-month-old Boxer/Pit Bull, as he embarks on a quest to find a loving home. (Fans of famous faces and our four-legged friends may recognize Joey from the 2015 MTV Video Music Award’s ‘Paparazzi Pen.’)

Although the ads are light-hearted, they shine a spotlight on a subject matter which weighs heavily on the hearts of animal lovers. Statistics state that every year 6 to 8 million dogs and cats enter U.S. shelters, where the lives of 2.4 million come to an end.
