Vote for America's Next Cat Star

In the world of pop culture famous felines are currently the cat’s meow, and thanks to Animal Planet five felines who have dreamed of lapping up the limelight have a chance to become a ‘paw’parazzi magnet.

After embarking on a coast-to-coast quest for videos of charismatic kitties to appear in the upcoming Animal Planet special America’s Next Cat Star, five four-pawed finalists have emerged, and are hoping to claw their way to victory with your help.

Cat lovers can now vote for their preferred purring participant:

Sunglasses Cat aka Bagel– Born without eyelids, even after numerous surgeries this two-year-old California cutie has needed to wear sunglasses to protect his peepers– and thanks to the America’s Next Cat Star competition her future’s so bright she’s gotta wear shades!
Sauerkraut– Presently living with her former foster family, this 16-month-old rescue kitty with a congenital problem may have a curmudgeonly countenance, but her frown will no doubt turn upside down when she finds her forever human.
Der– A two-year-old exotic shorthair who loves to stick out his tipped tongue, Der has his celebrity c-attitude down to a science.
Brimley– A rescued Persian with a pup-like purrsonality, Brimley’s doggedly determined to win the kitty competition.
Albert Baby Cat– This photogenic feline may have been born the runt of a litter, but this little guy has what it takes to make it to the big time.

An intergalactic kitty who has become an internet icon, Lil BUB will make a guest appearance on America’s Next Cat Star. “In the blink of an eye, I was considered one of the most important and influential cats on the planet,” Lil BUB confided to the press. “The best part of being a cat star is that I have been able to use my fame to help others. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

Lil BUB and her dude, Mike Brivasky, recently traveled to Austin, Texas to help raise funds for cats in need with a meet and greet at Austin Pets Alive! The famous feline also said hello to fans at SXSW, where she was dubbed Animal Planet’s official spokescat.
