Rescue Kitten Stars in “Keanu”

Keanu
Tapping into her inner CATe Winslet, a tiny tabby kitten who will soon lap up the limelight in the upcoming action-comedy Keanu has gone from life on the street to life as a star.

The pint-sized purrformer was just three weeks old when the curtain rose on her own real life tale.  Discovered outside a convenience store in Lake County, Florida, her paw pads were burnt from the hot pavement and ants were crawling on her weakened body. Just like a scene from a classic Hollywood movie, however, the kitten’s rescue has led to her transformation into a top dog in the world of showbiz.

If the charismatic kitty wins an Acatemy Award for her portrayal of a feline who is stolen by gangstas, she will have The Animal League to thank in her acceptance speech. Located in Cleremont, Florida, the non-profit organization which gave the talented tabby her first big break in life helps approximately 1,000 homeless companion animals each year land coveted roles as the furry family members of loving pet parents.

The kitten is not the first feline or Fido to gain fame after being rescued by The Animal League. Rovers who have resided at the facility have gone on to star in a Disney movie and a celebration of The Grinch at Universal Studios, while a cat appeared in an ad for Publix.

Keanu will be unleashed in theaters nationwide on April 29th.

Watch the meowing movie star (and some skilled stunt double kitties) as she shows off her acting chops alongside comic duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele in the trailer for Keanu. (ADVISORY: Contains language that may not be appropriate for all readers.)
