How Long is the World’s Longest Cat Tail? Cat Friends Set World Records

Share with fellow cat lovers!

Deepak Chopra has said, “Each of us is a unique strand in the intricate web of life and here to make a contribution.” Finding a way to use their uniqueness to contribute to efforts to help homeless felines, two one-of-a-kind cats who have just been awarded places in the Guinness Book of World Records have also won a special place in the collective heart of animal lovers.

While the love of their shared forever family in Framington Hills, Michigan has always made them feel special, so does the companion cats’ singular distinctions. Two-year-old Savannah cat Arcturus Aldebaran Powers towers over his fellow felines at approximately 19 inches, earning him the title of world’s tallest domestic cat, while those who meet Cygnus Regulus Powers can tell a true “tall tail,” as the two-year-old Maine Coon’s posterior appendage is the longest ever, at more than 17 inches. The pair of purring pals may soon top their own records, as they are still growing!

Putting the public’s interest in their idiosyncrasies to good use, those who request to pose for a photo with the famous felines are asked to make a donation to Ferndale Cat Shelter. The no-kill shelter provides medical care for cats in need, helps to lower pet overpopulation through trap/neuter/return programs, and finds forever homes for felines in the Metro Detroit community.
