Have You Marked Your Calendar for the Kitten Bowl?

Kitty quarterbacks and furry fullbacks who have successfully tackled the confusion of displacement following the country’s most recent natural disasters will score a touchdown in the hearts of fans of football and felines alike as they charge out on to the playing field to promote pet adoption on Hallmark Channel’s annual Kitten Bowl, airing February 4, 2018 at 12 p.m. ET/PT.

“Kitten Bowl” is a feline catstravaganza presented in association with North Shore Animal League America (the nation’s largest no-kill shelter and animal adoption organization) and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Hosted by Beth Stern, TV personality and national spokesperson for North Shore Animal League America, “Kitten Bowl” is a star-studded lineup that includes legendary New York Yankees radio voice John Sterling and award-winning reporter, sports analyst and commentator Mary Carillo as “Kitten Bowl’s” official play-by-play announcer, and Boomer Esiason as the Feline Football League’s (FFL) Commissioner. Since its debut in 2014, Kitten Bowl has been a real game changer for adorable adoptables, inspiring more than 10,000 companion animals to be chosen as MVPs (Most Valuable Pets!) in the lives of forever families at adoption events held the weekend of the broadcast. While a line up of just five rescue and adoption organizations held adoption events in conjunction with the program’s first season, thanks in part to teamwork with North Shore Animal League America that number has increased for Kitten Bowl V to 500 “tailgate” parties at rescues and shelters from coast to coast!

Once again Beth Stern, North Shore Animal Society spokesperson (and foster Mom to countless felines) will act as host of the presentation, with four-time Pro Bowl quarterback and Feline Football League Commissioner Boomer Esiason shining a spotlight on kittens who hope to be the next Tom “Cat” Brady or “”Purr”eyton Manning as he calls all the play-by-play action. In addition, Hallmark Channel will air heartwarming adoption stories and stars Dean Cain and Allison Sweeney will provide kitty commentary on the clowder of amewsing athletes.

This year’s roster of purring draft picks are from North Shore Animal League America (the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization) and Last Hope Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Kitten Bowl is part of Hallmark Channel’s evergreen pet initiative, which focuses on the plight of homeless pets and the happiness that comes from welcoming a shelter or rescue cat or dog into your heart and home.
