Miranda Lambert Adopts 3 Cats from TN Shelter

Share with fellow cat lovers!

More than merely a signature saying, “Don’t forget, love a shelter pet!” is a personal creed that country crooner Miranda Lambert lives by. Already a proud pet parent of several dogs and a stray kitten found on the highway who she called Curtis Loew, the “We Should Be Friends” singer, who helps four-legged friends find forever families to love as the co-founder of MuttNation Foundation, has expanded her fur family with the addition of three shelter cats.

The entertainer recently sang the praises of the animal shelter that cared for her new kitties as she shared the happy news via Instagram: “Thanks to the Maury County Animal Shelter in Columbia, TN for being so kind and helping us adopt 3 new shelter pets! You guys were super and your shelter was so nice. Go check them out.”

All charming tabbies, the performer’s new purring pals have been given names from the worlds of sports and song. In an homage to the Kris Kristofferson co-penned tune made famous by Janis Joplin, the kitten in the trio answers to Bobbi McGee, while the monikers for the two boys are salutes to Nick Saban (University of Alabama head football coach) and Bear Bryant, a football great who was also once head coach of the Crimson Tide.

A Tour that Helps Our Pals with Paws

Along with giving three shelter cats a new lease on life, while on her current Highway Vagabond tour the multi-platinum-selling recording artist is also helping homeless companion animals from coast to coast get on the road to a better tomorrow with the “Fill the Little Red Wagon” animal shelter campaign.

At each stop on the tour, fans can help their area animal shelter by bringing donations of much-needed supplies (treats, toys and more) to the concert venue entrance. One lucky fan who makes a contribution to the paws cause will get to meet Miranda Lambert prior to that evening’s performance.
