MUTTS Creator Helps “Love Changes Everything” Campaign

Share with fellow cat lovers!

For more than two decades the comedic capers of Mooch the Cat and Earl the Dog have delighted fans of the daily funnies. Recently Patrick McDonnell, the artist whose pen brings the pals with paws to life in the syndicated strip seen in more than 700 newspapers, helped to draw attention to homeless cats and dogs in need of a new lease on life as he kicked off Petco Foundation’s “Love Changes Everything” campaign.

Paying a visit to two New York City Petco stores during the first day of the month-long drive, McDonnell met with fans who also had the chance to meet adorable adoptables from Animal Care Centers of NYC, City Critters, Kitty Kind, Muddy Paws Rescue and Rabbit Rescue and Rehab.

“Nothing makes me happier than when people are inspired to adopt after reading MUTTS,” McDonnell exclaimed. “I knew that Petco had adoption events in their stores, but I had no idea that they are so connected with all the wonderful companion animal groups– and that the Petco Foundation does so much for them. Their work is truly impressive.”

A nationwide campaign, “Love Changes Everything” continues through April 2, 2017, with animal lovers making a donation of $10 or more at a Petco or Petco Unleashed store checkout receiving a reusable MUTTS-themed shopping bag created for the campaign by MUTTS artist Patrick McDonnell. (Available while supplies last.) Donations made both at the stores and online will help the Petco Foundation reach its goal of more than 3.1 million dollars to support the lifesaving efforts of animal welfare organizations from coast to coast. As Mooch the cat would say. “Yesh!!”
