Traveling the World with Solid Gold #FoodforFreeSpirits

solid-gold-lucky

As you know, before John and I were pet writers, we were travel writers. In our guidebook and magazine work, much of our work involved finding the very best food for each region. We spent one trip tracking down and photographing tropical desserts in Tobago (yes, it was a tough job but someone had to do it!) Another trip involved a quest to find the best patties, a turnover type sandwich, in Jamaica. And for one big assignment, we wrote an entire book called Gourmet Getaways on resort recipes that featured local specialties.

Certain parts of the world are known for certain kinds of food, ones created by using local meats and produce. Solid Gold pet foods has searched the world for some of the very best proteins, fruits and vegetables, grains and more for cat and dog foods.

Here’s a look at the foods that go into Solid Gold® Holistic Pet Nutrition, with their place of origin:

53-moonlight-prowlProteins

  • Quail, Duck and Rabbit from France
  • Lamb from New Zealand
  • Venison from Australia
  • Alaskan Pollock from Alaska’s Bering Strait
  • Turkey, Chicken and Beef from United States

10-indigo-moonSuperfoods

  • Pumpkin from California
  • Sweet Potato from North Carolina
  • Cranberries from Canada
  • Tomato Pomace from California

Whole Grains

  • Brown Rice from Arkansas
  • Oatmeal from Canada

Amino Acids

  • Taurine from Japan

As you can see, there are NO ingredients from China, a question that we know many of you might have. Instead, Solid Gold has gone directly to the location that is known as the premium destination for that food, ensuring that the fruits, vegetables and grains have the best growing season, therefore producing the best, most nutritional product to become an ingredient in Solid Gold foods.

Using recipes that have been 40 years in the making, Solid Gold then incorporates those ingredients into their holistic pet food. If you’d like to learn more about Solid Gold® Holistic Pet Nutrition, please visit their website, follow on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
