Cat Decor: Designing for Your Space

Share with fellow cat lovers!

Recently we brought the news to you about the winning designs in Purina® Tidy Cats® Pet Projects Design Challenge which was judged by celebrity designer Candice Olson.

The designer, whose HGTV show has long been one of my favorites, has some decorating tips for cat families. Today Olson discusses designing for your space:

Forcing something into a space that is too small creates clutter and limits functionality. Try to add to your existing home decor by taking advantage of vertical space that will offer fun for your felines.

For example, add a kitty walkway above your desk with shelving units that your cat can climb on while you are working. Cats love to be up high to survey their surroundings and this way they can be near you without sitting on your papers while you work! Installing attractive, safely secured shelving units can also provide additional storage space in your office.

A kitty walkway over the desk…I would love to have one of those! Now that the catio is finished here, that would be such a fun project. Oh, John…
