I’m so excited to announce that we’ll at the POP Cats™ show August 25-26! Our PawZaar gift store will have a booth at the show–so we hope that you’ll consider coming to the show and saying hi!

This year’s POP Cats event is held in our hometown–Austin, Texas! If you’re a regular reader of CatTipper, you know that Austin’s an extremely pet-loving city. Holding the title as the largest no-kill city in the country, the city’s animal welfare policies have really made Austin a leader in the rescue world.

POP Cats 2018 will offer a fun, immersive feline universe where humans can shop, learn, adopt, play and connect with the spirited cat community. The event is designed to create an upbeat and interactive environment featuring music, entertainment, play space for cats and their owners and ample photo ops. The event will feature a curated line-up of cat-centric speakers and presentations from feline experts and influencers, as well as artists and vendors from Texas and around the world – all joining together to celebrate the splendor of cats and the humans that love them.

POP Cats will also feature plenty of felines, of course! Austin Humane Society (where we adopted the late, great Linus) will be on site with adorable kitties looking for their forever home. Guests can also bring their own cats to enjoy a custom-designed playground.

Created by siblings Edgar Alexander and Johana Flores, POP Cats was founded to raise awareness of feline welfare and celebrate the popular pets through an experience that offers both entertainment and advocacy.

POP Cats debuted in 2017 at the Miami Airport Convention Center. After a successful inaugural event, Alexander and Flores decided to expand the event to two days and explored the country for a perfect POP Cats 2018 location. They ultimately chose Austin because of the city’s adoration of its pet population and its vibrant creative community. “From the moment you arrive, Austinites warm your heart with genuine kindness. The city’s creative spirit is evident in the beautiful public art around town and being home to long-standing no-kill animal shelters is proof that its residents are also passionate about pets,” says Alexander.

We’ll be bringing you more on the show as the date approaches but, for now, if your summer travels are bringing you anywhere near Texas, be sure to check out POP Cats:
