Prowling the streets of Kansas City in search of a cat cafe? The day after Thanksgiving 2018 must have felt like Christmas Day to cat lovers in Kansas City, Missouri as the door opened to Whiskers Cat Cafe— the city’s first feline-themed cafe!
The 411 for Foodies
An array of baked goods, tea and coffee in the designated restaurant area will help to satisfy customers’ cravings as they feast their eyes on the adorable adoptables at play in the separate cat lounge!
The Cats of Whiskers Cat Cafe
The meowing menagerie that greet the guests who enter the cafe’s separate kitty quarters include two purr-manent residents and eight adoptables from the no-kill shelter KC Pet Project, which helps approximately 10,000 companion animals in need each year.
When they aren’t lapping up attention from admirers who have paid a fee for a 60-minute stay in their presence, the cats can survey their surroundings from a suspension bridge, curl up in a fuzzy blanket, make their mark on a scratching post or enjoy a little “me” time away from public view in a private, cats-only room.
More Fun with Felines
The cafe also plans to serve up a menu of fun events! Fans of film and felines can curl up with a kitty on movie nights, budding artists can unleash their inner Furr-ida Kahlo during paint nights, and attendees can perfect their downward dog post during a yoga with cats session.
Missouri Cat Cafes
Whiskers Cat Cafe is Missouri’s third cat cafe. The Show Me state also shows its love for our feline friends in St. Louis at Mauhaus Cat Cafe & Lounge and in Columbia at Papa’s Cat Cafe.
